Position:              Training & Recruitment Coordinator

Reports To:         HR Director

Location:             La Crescent, MN

Status:                 Full time


The Training and Recruitment Coordinator will assist in the daily functions of Human Resources including, but not limited to, recruiting, training and development, and other various HR processes. This role will provide support to the entire organization.


HR/Training Development Support


  • Collaborate with department managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings
  • Determine most effective recruiting platform(s) for each position, post on various platforms
  • Monitor the Careers Email Inbox and evaluate applications and resumes
  • Data entry into the Applicant Log for candidates
  • Save and file resumes, interview notes, etc.
  • Assist in writing job descriptions
  • Schedule interviews with candidates
  • Conduct phone screen interviews as needed
  • Write offer letters with HR Director
  • Conduct background checks and schedule drug screens
  • Research, register and attend career fairs to represent Wieser Brothers
  • Attend high school and college events to promote and recruit


  • Prepare new hire paperwork for employee orientation
  • Conduct new employee orientation
  • Enter information into system for new employee
  • Complete employee eligibility verifications


  • Assist in the creation of a training and development programs for all levels of the organization
  • Create, administrate, and track the training and development program for each employee
  • Research and coordinate internal and external training opportunities based on the needs of the organization

Miscellaneous/General Responsibilities:

  • Respond to reference checks and verifications of employment
  • Assist HR Director with performance evaluation process
  • Take on various administrative, communicative, and prioritizing responsibilities for all areas of HR

Required Skills and Abilities: 

  • This individual should have knowledge of current Minnesota, Wisconsin and Federal HR laws and regulations
  • Create and maintain effective working relationships with all employees
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Manage email, phone and in-person inquiries in a proactive, enthusiastic matter connecting individuals with the right information in a timely manner
  • Working understanding of human resource principles, practices and procedures
  • Excellent time management skills with proven ability to meet deadlines
  • Demonstrates ability to work with a strong work ethic, reliability, teamwork and flexibility
  • Maintain high standards of confidentiality with all employee records
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite


  • Associates Degree in Human Resources or equitable work experience
  • 2+ years of experience in Human Resources
